Blend In With
Ceramic Braces
Many patients around O’Fallon, MO, want a beautiful smile and also want to make their braces less noticeable. Pitts21’s smart clear braces from WingHaven® Orthodontics include ceramic brackets, space-age wires, and various auxiliaries.
Giving You a Clear Alternative to Metal
Many older teenagers and adult patients at WingHaven® Orthodontics prefer this subtler option because you can achieve a great smile without the visibility of metal braces.
Clear Pitts21 brackets are the same shape and size, but far less noticeable. Also, since our smart braces are self-ligating, you'll have fewer visits to our O'Fallon office.
Differences Between Ceramic & Metal Braces
Metal braces are known for their durability and strength. Although ceramic braces are also tough, they use a different, more fragile material that is easier to chip or crack.
Traditional braces are also able to tolerate more pressure than newer ceramic ones. If you require more severe corrections, metal braces with WingHaven® Orthodontics could be the better option.
Adjustments have to be slightly smaller with ceramic braces, so it can take a little more time to align your teeth successfully. Both braces work on the same principles and tend to be equally effective in most cases.
Some people around O’Fallon worry about ceramic braces staining, but that hasn't been a problem for several years. Ceramic brackets won't stain.
However, the adhesive used to attach the brackets to the teeth can stain. This can give an overall impression of discoloration or staining over time.
You can avoid things like coffee, tea, red wine, and mustard to reduce the chances of staining, but this is optional as long as you maintain your oral hygiene routine.
Cost of Ceramic Braces
Pitts21 ceramic braces at WingHaven® Orthodontics generally cost slightly more than metal braces. When looking at the cost of treatment, one of the most significant factors is the materials used to craft your braces.
The work involved in placing and removing clear braces must also be factored into the total cost of your treatment since it's a more sensitive technique and requires more time.
The good news is that WingHaven® Orthodontics offers convenient, no-interest payment plans, and we'll also check with your insurance company for orthodontic benefits. Our goal is to provide outstanding value for reasonable fees.
Your treatment fees will indeed depend on the complexity of your orthodontic treatment. However, Michaela, our Orthodontic Coordinator, will discuss the cost of your treatment with you and work with you to create a custom payment plan that fits your budget.
Best for Adults
After a thorough orthodontic evaluation with Dr. Held, we can determine which treatment option best suits you and your smile.
At WingHaven® Orthodontics, we generally think ceramic braces suit adults and older teens better than children and younger teens. This is because ceramic brackets are more likely to break and are more expensive than metal brackets.
